MCCSC's
7th Annual Auction & Hoedown
held on
February 2nd, 2013

… A Big Success !!!

It was a sell-out evening with all 200 tickets sold at the 7th Annual Charity Auction & “Country Hoedown” held at the Clarksville Enrichment Complex Saturday evening.

The room was full and the fun was non-stop. With delicious food and drinks, Bill Baker’s inimitable auctioneering, lots of good auction items, and fellowship abound, it’s unofficial ratings were only a tad short of the Super Bowl’s!

With Live Auction items ranging from an antique Civil War musket and 3 separate weeks at different luxury condos, to a Brew Academy for six and a Turkey Hunt and a Deer Hunt with John Lee and David Buchanan, there were things to bid on for everyone.

The Mecklenburg County Community Services Corporation (MCCSC), the Auction organizers, had another successful fundraiser to help support their efforts towards providing needed community services in their state-of-the-art facility, simply called, “The Complex”.

The MCCSC wants to thank not only all of the community members who bought tickets and all the auction items but also the local business sponsors, who were recognized on a large poster (see Below) as a backdrop to the festive affair. As a non-profit institution, the MCCSC and its many volunteers help make western Mecklenburg County a better place to live by turning the generosity of the individuals and businesses into a community facility that brings pride and value.

The Clarksville Enrichment Complex opened its doors to the public in May 2010. The culmination of a vision and a lot of hard work by a group of local citizens, The Complex is a modern, 15,000 sq-ft, state-of-the-art facility that houses new and expanded community services for Mecklenburg County, VA and the Clarksville area in particular. Founded in 2005 as a nonprofit 501c(3) organization called the Mecklenburg County Community Services Corporation, the MCCSC funded this major addition to the community by federal and local grants, a USDA Rural Development Loan, and by generous contributions and gifts from the public through its One Hundred Club memberships and various fundraising events throughout the year. The major service organizations housed in this facility are:
  • The Mecklenburg County YMCA, Clarksville Branch
  • Lake Country Kids Before & After School Program
  • Lake Country Distance Education Center
  • Southside Virginia Community College
