CENTER ACTIVITIES

HUD Commits for $196,000

Stuart Buchanan, left Financial Chairman of the Mecklenburg County Community Services Corp. (MCCSC), Fifth District Rep. Virgil Goode and Joe Davidson, MCCSC President, display a letter from the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) committing $196,000 to the construction of the Lake Country Education and Enrichment Center in Clarksville. The HUD letters state that the award is contingent on the Mecklenburg County Community Services Corp receiving a USDA loan for the project, which carries a fundraising goal of $1.1 million. The site for the Lake Country Education and Enrichment Center is located on Noblin Farm Road, across from the Lake Country Industrial Park.
